Jan 12th - Sorry...

No time for a decent picture today. Can't you see I'm busy?! :)

We love LBP around here and finally picked up the sequel today. Happy, fun, family time!

Jan 11th - Taking it back to the old school

I've been meaning to pull out my old film SLR for quite some time and give it another shot. There's a camera shop in Tacoma that sounds promising as a source of film and dark room goodies.... In the meantime I'm just going to take a picture of my old friend. I tried processing it somewhat vintage looking, since the camera, and my kitchen are both from a by-gone era. ;-)

jan 10th - Sleepy Boy

I know there is a lot technically wrong with this image, but I love it just the same.

Jan 8th - At the Park

The sun managed to come out for an entire day, so we loaded the boy up and made sure he got some park time before the next round of rain moves in.

Jan 7th - I'm at work...

Which inevitably means I've only taken a terrible cell phone photo.  Here's some fruit from a bereavement tray.

I'm sure that made your day.

Jan 6th - We can haz Pizza?

We lock the dogs in "puppy jail" during dinner. Unfortunately, we lock them in the laundry room, which is directly across from the table. So if you happen to glance their way during dinner, you generally see a lot of this:

Jan. 5th - Bokeh!

Happy, sparkly bokeh!  Our Christmas tree is coming down soon, so I thought I better get one of these pictures while I could. I hate that DS moved to the side and put himself in an odd place in the frame, but at least he isn't scowling like he was in all of the rest of the shots.  The boy has a serious case of photographer's kid syndrome.

Jan. 2nd

I seem to get this look from my son a lot these days. Boy I can't wait until he's a teenager.

Actually, I'm kidding. I do get this look a lot, but he isn't trying to roll his eyes at me. He just thinks it's funny. I can't blame him... he's right. I attepmted to bounce my flash with an index card onto the ceiling. I desperately need a hotshoe flash. Or better yet, a camera with better low light capabilities. Our house is kind of a cave, and everyone knows there isn't a whole lot of sunlight to be had up here in the NW this time of year anyways.

Happy New Year!

Welcome To my project 365 blog (really, 366 this year)! My goal for 2012 is to take a photo everyday for one year. Anyone who knows me knows that I love photography. The problem is, in my quest for getting the "perfect" photo, I often pass up opportunities to just take snapshots of my family in their day to day lives. I hope this blog will help me remember that it's the memories that count when it comes to personal photos, not the background, or the focus, or the composition of the shot. However, I also hope to grow and improve as a photographer as well throughout the year. Nothing like a little forced practice to build your skills. Thanks for joining me on this journey.

My First posting is unfortunately a pretty terrible cell phone shot. I work nights and this is how I rang in the new year. NYE in an ICU, not the most jovial of places...luckily I've got some pretty awesome co-workers to spend it with. Here's to a happy, healthy, joyous 2012!
